Chartered psychologist specialising in learning and development.

Hello, I have worked in L&D in many forms and in many fields over the last three decades. As you can imagine, in that time I have seen many changes, but through it all I have found the best drivers of development in the workplace come down to understanding human diversity. When there’s respect for our differences, we achieve our personal and collective best.

I was lucky to be part of early movements using web based technology for learning. The ‘e’ from the eLearning revolution in the 2000’s stood for electronic, but for me it also meant equality. Now everyone, including neurodiverse people like myself, could learn in their own way to suit their needs, at their own time and pace.

Promoting inclusive learning led to setting up a digital education business, providing quality yet cost effective online learning to organisations in many sectors. The ROI was clear. The pandemic taught us all what could be achieved online. As well as learning about our best ways to develop, we learned about our best ways of working. We saw we could be productive, educated, respected and connected while working remotely.

As the online learning business grew, my own passion for supporting thriving workplaces to be person centred and inclusive expanded into psychology, coaching, and emotional intelligence. I now partner with individuals and organisations looking to develop programmes of learning to improve business outcomes and sustainable workplace culture.

As a researcher and Chartered psychologist, my approach is evidence based with proven results.  Take a look through some of my services here and please get in touch to discuss anything.

Leadership & coaching

I have led large teams and now I support business leaders to lead theirs with human centred practices. I design, develop and deliver leadership programmes for the public, private and third sector.

During periods of change and challenge, I have worked within Higher Education and built a wealth of experience in crisis management, culture change and organisational development.

I am a qualified Action Learning coach and ILM7 Executive Coach and Mentor. I provide 1:1, team and group coaching to organisations, and business mentoring services on the national Help to Grow programme.

As a Chartered Psychologist, I offer full service psychometric assessments including the EQ-i 2.0 and 360 tool which provides strong reliability and validity, classified as a Level B Instrument by the BPS and the APA.

Learning design

I began my career in workforce development with the NHS when online learning platforms were just beginning to appear.

I have seen many technologies and trends over the years. I know the latest platforms and cutting edge digital creation software. These are all just tools. Real results come from in depth understanding of objectives, co-creating content and constant evaluation. The one size fits all approach can provide quick fixes to workplace challenges, but long term ROI comes from tailoring to each organisation’s needs.

I partner with HR, OD and L&D teams to create learning using pedagogical principals. That could be designing learner pathways, creating and curating content, development and delivery of in person, blended or online learning. Regardless of the medium, the message of inclusive, impactful learning is what counts.

Job crafting

Job crafting is the bottom up process of shaping one’s role to fit individual needs and preferences (Wrzesniewski & Dutton, 2001). Research tells us when individuals become active crafters of their role, it leads to increased job satisfaction, wellbeing and performance.

Job crafting can support individuals and organisations by giving time and space to explore roles by those who know them best.

To support this, I have created a workshop for workplaces using the 4R model as a framework. This guides participants to consider tasks, relationships and understanding of their roles ith others and within the organisation as a whole.

Using these crafting techniques and creative thinking supports autonomy and uncovers potential. There is immediate impact in inclusion and belonging, and longer term positive change in culture, processes and productivity.
